Eucalyptus Oil

Australia is a habitat for over 700 varieties of rapid-growing, flowering evergreen plants commonly known as eucalyptus. These eucalyptus plants, belonging to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae), can reach heights of up to 60 feet and expand to 15 feet in width. doTERRA has carefully chosen five distinct species to formulate its exclusive Eucalyptus essential oil: Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus polybractea, Eucalyptus kochii, Eucalyptus loxophleba, and Eucalyptus globulus. The primary chemical component found in these species is eucalyptol (1,8-Cineole), which imparts numerous therapeutic benefits to this essential oil blend.

This essential oil boasts a revitalizing scent with camphoraceous and herbaceous notes. Thanks to its primary constituent, 1,8 cineole, Eucalyptus essential oil also possesses purifying properties. It can be used aromatically or topically to encourage a sensation of clear breathing and open airways. Additionally, Eucalyptus essential oil enhances the experience of a soothing massage.

Eucalyptus loxophleba
This part of the essential oil blend is actually Eucalyptus loxophelba subspecies lissophlia. Yes, that’s a mouthful, so it’s commonly referred to as eucalyptus lox liss.
